Beneath its churches sleep forgotten temples. Beneath marble saints stand older gods. Beneath the ancient empire lives another story entirely. Across centuries, Rome has become a living palimpsest. Pagan sanctuaries became holy churches. Ancient goddesses were clothed in new names. Sacred wells, stars, serpents, roses, keys, labyrinths, and celestial architecture continued to reveal themselves to those willing to look beneath the surface.
This Winter Solstice, we gather once again in the Eternal City to follow the hidden threads woven through myth, sacred art, ancient temples, forgotten goddesses, mysticism, astrology, and the enduring mysteries of the feminine. We will ask not only what we are seeing, but why these symbols have endured. What have they carried across centuries? What wisdom still waits beneath the surface for those willing to look more deeply?
Throughout the weekend, we will move through Rome to explore the ancient streets, stand where priestesses once tended sacred flame, contemplate masterpieces that conceal layers of symbolism, and practice seeing beyond what first meets the eye.

IMMERSION SCHEDULE
Your ticket includes our full-day Winter Solstice Immersion on Sunday, December 20th from 10:00 AM–6:00 PM with Desirée Pais, Birjiwan Kaur, and Rose Theodora. The rest of the weekend is designed to be spacious, communal, and exploratory. From evenings wandering Rome's candlelit streets to gathering over hot chocolate, lingering over long Italian meals, and exploring the ancient and sacred sites of the Eternal City, there will be plenty of time to experience Rome together. We'll share our curated recommendations for where to stay, eat, and explore closer to the date, along with optional meetups as we get closer to the weekend.

As evening settles over Rome, we'll gather for hot chocolate and conversation. A gentle beginning to the weekend—a chance to meet one another, settle into the rhythm of the city, and begin opening ourselves to the days ahead. Like every BENSHEN immersion, the magic begins long before the first practice.

Together we'll spend the day exploring Rome through the lens of mythology, symbolism, and the sacred feminine. We'll wander ancient streets, visit places where temples once stood, discover hidden corners often overlooked, and contemplate the symbols woven into churches, fountains, piazzas, and sacred architecture. Throughout the day we'll pause for teachings, conversation, and reflection, allowing the city itself to become our classroom.

Our full-day immersion on December 20th from 10:00 AM–6:00 PM is the heart of the weekend.
Led by Desirée Pais, Birjiwan Kaur, and Rose Theodora, this immersive experience weaves together Kundalini Yoga, meditation, astrology, mythology, lecture, and ritual, as we honor the threshold of the Winter Solstice. Together we'll explore the hidden language of symbols and the feminine mysteries that continue to echo through Rome's history. The Winter Solstice has long marked the return of the light after the longest night, a moment of stillness, devotion, and quiet transformation. Through embodied practice and intellectual inquiry, we'll reflect on what it means to tend our own inner flame as another cycle begins.
This is an invitation to slow down. To look more deeply. To remember that every symbol is a doorway, every pilgrimage is inward, and some places continue to reveal themselves long after we've returned home.
