RITUAL • What are your daily inner + outer rituals to cultivate beauty and radiance?

I wake up early every morning, drink two cups of organic green tea.  Something about being up with the sun is inspiring.  I can think, reflect, and brainstorm in the quiet essence of the morning.

My beauty regimen is pretty basic, I wash my face morning and night.  I’m also huge on essential oils, they are currently my staple.  I usually do not wear makeup unless I feel the urge, which is such a nice refresher for my skin.  I always air dry my hair and try not too fuss with it too much.

Evenings I like to nourish my skin with either an Indian Clay mask, or oils.. and I always wind down with another cup (or two) of green tea.  I try to meditate every night before bed as well.

NOURISH • What are your staples for beauty + wellness + radiance?

Lots of water, organic green tea, fermented & raw foods, cold-pressed juices, lots of veggies. These past couple of years, I've really started to listen to my body and now I stay away from certain foods which tend to slow me down. Granted, I can never say no to those delicious raw treats from Whole Foods...or dark chocolate. But daily, I make sure to fill my body with positive, nutritious foods. What we put in our bodies have  HUGE impact on how we radiate on the outside.

BODY • How do you keep your body healthy, strong, and powerful?

Surfing has aways been my spiritual outlet...along with yoga, running, and just being outside. I've been a competitive athlete my entire life, and once college was over, I really wanted to focus on the rejuvenating benefits of exercise. Instead of the high impact / high competitive nature I've been used to, it's so refreshing to view exercise from a different perspective.

MIND • How do you stay grounded, confident, and centered in this modern day craziness we call life?

Meditation, balance, and humbleness, along with plenty of sleep, early mornings by the ocean, and creativity every single day.  The loved ones in my life keep me grounded.

SPIRIT • BENSHEN means 'root of the spirit' - how do you root your spirit into your life, which in turn, keeps your body beautiful, healthy, and radiant?

Doing what I love every single day means waking up with a purpose and love for my life. There is nothing more important than creating a life that makes me happy, surrounded by people who I love. I am a very passionate person, so I tend to put immense efforts in things that are meaningful to me, whether that is another person or a creative project. Everyday is new, requiring positive energy and efficiency - knowing that keeps my spirit alive and radiant.
