Beauty is purity, beauty is natural, beauty is honesty, beauty is untamed, beauty is a smile, beauty is a genuine soul and a compassionate heart.

RITUAL • What are your daily inner + outer rituals to cultivate beauty and radiance?

Everyday, I wash my face with mud! I’m half Jordanian and used to visit the Dead Sea in Jordan all the time as a child so I was taught young that the mud benefits are so nourishing and cleansing for your skin :) I also love rosewater. It smells and feels so good on your skin.  Also, I don't drink alcohol anymore, I’m vegetarian, and practice yoga, which I see all as daily beauty rituals. At first, I made started these practices for the benefits for my mind, but then I noticed how these practices started to make me shine from the inside, feel in tune with nature, and therefore more beautiful.

NOURISH • What are your staples for beauty + wellness + radiance?

Living in NY and not being able to control the heat system has left my mouth parched in the morning and feeling so dehydrated, so coconut water saves me!  Also, a balanced vegetarian diet full of fruits and vegetables, and mediterranean staples in my house like "Zeit Zaatar", (olive oil and zaatar), Labneh, Hummus, grapes, and a nice weekly Italian pasta dish makes me happy. My fiancé Zac makes a simple dish of rice and sauteéd vegetables with tumeric and spices, and thats also a go-to dinner in our place. A few more of my favorite things are lavender chamomile tea and pineapple, which I always have in the summertime, and dark chocolate every night

BODY • How do you keep your body healthy, strong, and powerful?

I love yoga, and all kinds. I do vinyasa at home, but love to go to Bikram classes and really get a good sweat. Whenever I leave a Bikram class, I’m de-stressed for the next few days. When its warm out, I also like to go for a run. I love dance too, and sometimes take dance classes at BAM. Last summer, I joined a few friends of The Brooklyn Peaches, they do synchronized swimming, and we danced every week for a month together in the park. They also taught me a few moves in the water - they are amazing!

MIND • How do you stay grounded, confident, and centered in this modern day craziness we call life?

I keep my good friends and family around me, and we give each other support. I also love listening to Eckhart Tolle and love the book The Untethered Soul, which always makes me feel centered.  One thing came to mind just now,  I remember this really stuck with me from the book: "Only you can take the inner freedom away from yourself, or give it to yourself. Nobody else can."

SPIRIT • BENSHEN means 'root of the spirit' - how do you root your spirit into your life, which in turn, keeps your body beautiful, healthy, and radiant?

Wow!  This is such a beautiful question in itself! I follow my dreams and passions by the work that I do.  Everyday, I create new work through floral arrangements and weddings. I design, the fabrics I dye, the paintings I make, and new ideas that come through experimenting and playing.  When I work with flowers and natural dyes, I let go and find a connection with my mind-body-soul-and the abstract response.  Its like a dance, feeling inspired and wanting to express this abundant and positive beauty to an audience,  I can help myself but to express and dance it out, Ive always been that way, maybe its my Moon in Leo, but I hope I others can feel that it comes straight from my soul. And above all, I hope that others get inspired.
