RITUAL • What are your daily inner + outer rituals to cultivate beauty and radiance?

I start my day with oil pulling and dry brushing. I wash my face with a homemade tonic, then have a big glass of room temperature water, warm water with lemon and honey, my nutritional powders and often a mate tea. I end my day with my homemade tonic followed by Egyptian Magic on my face—I absolutely love it. I try to do an Eminence facial mask once a week, and indulge in baths that use salts, oils and rose quartz weekly.


NOURISH • What are your staples for beauty + wellness + radiance?

Water, water, and then more water. I’m currently eating grainless and absolutely loving it. I do a mug of bone broth a day, good proteins and plenty of veggies and fruit. I need my sleep, so make a concerted effort to get at least 8 every night. If I don’t, I do my best to squeeze in a cat nap.


BODY • How do you keep your body healthy, strong, and powerful?

I do a mix of yoga and martial arts. I practice Jiu Jitsu, Kempo Karate, Kung Fu and sparring 6 days a week. I practice yoga at home—normally my interpretation of an Ashtanga series, or leading up to a peak pose that my body craves. I always enjoy a good sweat and physical challenge. If there’s a strong mental component to it, all the better.


MIND • How do you stay grounded, confident, and centered in this modern day craziness we call life?

I do my best to squeeze in at least 5 minutes of meditation a day. It normally comes in form of Japa meditation, mantra or simply sitting. I engage in meaningful, raw conversation with my best friend and husband daily to keep me honest, aware and sane. I’m also unafraid to put the phone/computer down and  just get outside. Often the best way to connect is by disconnecting.


SPIRIT • BENSHEN means 'root of the spirit' - how do you root your spirit into your life, which in turn, keeps your body beautiful, healthy, and radiant?

I focus on aiming true every single day of my life. I invite this essence into my personal life as well as teaching it regularly to my students. It’s the constant dance of give and take, push and pull. If I can talk the talk, I can inspire others to follow suit. If I see myself inspiring others, then I know I’m on the right path. We support each other.
