I FIND BEAUTY IN WHATEVER OPENS MY HEART, TENDERIZES IT, AND FILLS ME WITH A SENSE OF WONDER, OF MAGIC...I SEEK AND FIND BEAUTY EVERYWHERE.

RITUAL • What are your daily inner + outer rituals to cultivate beauty and radiance?

I have a very simple routine, as I have very sensitive skin, so it’s really just Cetaphil and Argan oil. I dry brush every day and I’m huge on flossing - can’t go to sleep without it. I also take long solitary walks by the ocean in Santa Monica during sunset.

NOURISH • What are your staples for beauty + wellness + radiance?

I make a Moon Juice-inspired raw cacao + maca shake every day. I add reishi, chaga, pearl and ho shou wu. I swear it’s like natural prozac. I also eat a ton of avocado.

BODY • How do you keep your body healthy, strong, and powerful?

Long walks, restorative yoga and hiking. I am predominantly Pitta (in Ayurveda), so I need movement that is calming and soothing, otherwise I become irritable. Calming my nervous system regulates my metabolism and energy levels and keeps me feeling whole and grounded.

MIND • How do you stay grounded, confident, and centered in this modern day craziness we call life?

I meditate daily and also teach meditation at Unplug in West LA. It’s a game changer. I have always craved and needed solitude, but meditation gave this form, gave it intention and meaning and I am beyond grateful for my practice. I am also a voracious reader and love to immerse myself in literature. I always emerge transformed, grounded and inspired after finishing a great novel.

SPIRIT • BENSHEN means 'root of the spirit' - how do you root your spirit into your life, which in turn, keeps your body beautiful, healthy, and radiant?

I meditate but I also pray every day. I ask for guidance. I (try to) surrender to what is. I take responsibility for my upsets, for anything that is surfacing, perceiving it as an opportunity for healing and release. And then I do the work around it. I believe that God has a plan for me and that my job is to attune to that plan, to follow its lead. I don’t always get it right - I make mistakes all the time - but my intention is always to expand and grow, to move out of my ego and into my heart, to be the best version of me. As long as I set clear intentions and take inspired action, I trust the Universe has my back - even if it may not look like it at the time!
