"BEAUTY FOR ME IS THE FREEDOM TO BE COMFORTABLE IN YOUR OWN SKIN. WHEN BEAUTY IS REAL, GRITTY AND GLOWING FROM THE INSIDE-OUT, IT'S EVEN MORE LOVELY TO WITNESS."

RITUAL • What are your daily inner + outer rituals to cultivate beauty and radiance?

Upon waking I always prefer to prepare some invigorating peppermint tea to get myself going.  I also love to say a prayer in the morning to keep myself grounded and humble. I always try to get a lot of sleep at night and wake up early usually around 8am. Water is paramount to health and I drink it in droves. My other rituals kinda of get shuffled around depending on if I am styling or have meeting that day. However I like to keep the ones I named above constant.

NOURISH • What are your staples for beauty + wellness + radiance?

I love to drink lukewarm lemon water to cleanse my body at least a few times every week. I also really like to pay attention to what I eat in general...though I confess I sometimes have the occasional doughnut. Fresh fruits and veggies are a must. My husband and I have recently really gotten into juicing. It's fun to experiment with a variety of fresh juices for healthy drinks!

BODY • How do you keep your body healthy, strong, and powerful?

I think flexibility is very important to keep a body in it's best shape possible. I try to do yoga a few times a week and am about to start ballet classes soon which I am extremely excited about! I also think taking a walk outside at least once a day is paramount to happiness when you are working from home (which I do a lot). The sunshine and fresh air really does so much for a persons overall well-being.

MIND • How do you stay grounded, confident, and centered in this modern day craziness we call life?

I love to take a few very long deep breaths a day, take breaks often and be sure to go on vacation occasionally. I give most of my worries to God which helps me immensely. It always feels nice to lighten the load.

SPIRIT • BENSHEN means 'root of the spirit' - how do you root your spirit into your life, which in turn, keeps your body beautiful, healthy, and radiant?

I think the most important way to do this for me is to keep myself rooted in my faith. I feel like God teaches me every day to think of others more than myself and ways to find true wisdom. Without this I think my life would be a lot more hectic.
