RITUAL • What are your daily inner + outer rituals to cultivate beauty and radiance?

Conscious daily Ritual is such an integral part of life. There are so many ways to ritualize each day! The consistent ones for me:

  • I wake up slowly, with enough time to feel into my body before being fully awake. I breathe deeply and give myself a little abdominal massage. I do some light yoga, stretching out my hips, spine and extremities. This helps me tune into my energy and intuition so I can more closely listen to what my body needs and wants throughout the day. Then I meditate. 
  • I love dry brushing before the shower and using coconut oil or the "SeabuckthornBest Skin Ever" from Living Libations to wash in place of soap. And, I love spritzing with hydrosols daily. Favorites are the "Clary + Sage Lavender" from Benshen and "The Radiant Rose Water Toner" from Shiva Rose.
  • My deep love is for my daily Tea Ceremony practice where I quietly listen to messages from the elements and the Leaf. 


NOURISH • What are your staples for beauty + wellness + radiance?

 Lots of organic, seasonal, colorful, local produce. I feel it is really important to support my local Farmer's Markets as much as I can! I also love my smoothies and make them for myself daily shifting the ingredients around based on what I need. A variety of greens and lots of healthy fats; coco creme/oil, evoo, ghee, avocado, yogurt, nuts, seeds, and bone broth. Anything fermented, live foods like raw sauerkraut.  

I have an ongoing love with sweet potatoes. Eating them makes me feel so happy, which ultimately is the main contributor to radiance! So eat things that make you smile and dance inside and out!

BODY • How do you keep your body healthy, strong, and powerful?

I love being active! I do yoga, walk, swim in the ocean, hike... Being out in nature and moving my body always deepens my connection to my internal strength and power. But also finding the stillness in nature. I like to lay down on the earth, tune into the vibrations in my body and allow the vibrations of the earth beneath me IN. 

Dance Dance Dance! Some of the best physical medicine to move energy!

On a very basic level, when I am home I also have a consistent work out regime. 2 times a week I train with weights and do stamina exercises with my lovely friend Ashley Borden! She is a big advocate for "foam rolling", which I have come to love so much. We use the roller for 20 mins prior to working out. It massages all my key muscles, increases blood flow throughout my body and also range of motion. 

oh... and massages, soaks, and steams whenever possible.


MIND • How do you stay grounded, confident, and centered in this modern day craziness we call life?

My teacher always says... anything + meditation is the prescription. So, Tea + meditation. Yoga + meditation. Dance + meditation. Hike + meditation... you get the idea :)


SPIRIT • BENSHEN means 'root of the spirit' - how do you root your spirit into your life, which in turn, keeps your body beautiful, healthy, and radiant?

I walk in spirit, with every step constantly reminding myself to trust and surrender. Each and every moment; this is my practice.
