TRUE BEAUTY, TO ME, IS QUIET. IT ISN’T LOUD OR OVER. THE COMPASSIONATE PURSUIT OF BEING GOOD TO OTHERS AND KIND TO STRANGERS IS BEAUTIFUL

RITUAL • What are your daily inner + outer rituals to cultivate beauty and radiance?

Sleep is probably the most important beauty ritual that I have. I sleep 8 hours almost every night. I also like to take exfoliating baths with lavender scrubs and dry brush beforehand. I work with clay in a ceramic studio so my skin can get pretty dry – I always carry a thick moisturizer from Kiehl's called Crème De Corps. My boyfriend's mother gave it to me once and I've continued to buy it religiously ever since.

NOURISH • What are your staples for beauty + wellness + radiance?

Water is something I'm always trying to drink more of. I drink a lot of tea and sparkling water and hope that can contribute to my h20 intake. Ha! I love fresh greens, legumes and fruit. In general I enjoy cooking and I enjoy eating. There are days when I focus on being healthy and then also times when I like to indulge in my favorite plate of pasta. I think being happy and balanced is the best way to feel beautiful.

BODY • How do you keep your body healthy, strong, and powerful?

I try to consider beauty equal parts physical and mental. I exercise 4 to 5 times per week to stay clear minded and also relaxed. I like to do Pilates and work with resistance bands at the Modelfit Studio on Bowery. When my schedule allows I love to bike ride, swim and hike.

MIND • How do you stay grounded, confident, and centered in this modern day craziness we call life?

Simply put – Sleep!! I know I already mentioned that but I feel it is so important to staying centered and strong. I also like to surround myself with kind, confident and smart people. I feel my most powerful when I know that good people have my back.

SPIRIT • BENSHEN means 'root of the spirit' - how do you root your spirit into your life, which in turn, keeps your body beautiful, healthy, and radiant?

Every day is different. There are days when I feel like things naturally come together and propel me further into my dreams. And there are also days when I need to push through learning curves to be a better person and professional. Trying to be kind to myself and not overly critical has been a big part of my success. I can be very tough on myself and while that is a good quality, it's important to remember that life is a journey and no one is perfect. Some of my best moments and breakthroughs have come from what I initially thought were mistakes!
